Raigarh Airport is a development project by India’s Chhattisgarh State Government and the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The airport will initially feature a single, 1870m runway and will be used for domestic flights. 592 acres of land will be acquired for the new airport. Estimated investment for the initial phase of construction is INR1.2 billion (USD20.3 million). The second phase will include development of a second 2000m runway and is expected to require financing of INR1.8 billion (USD30.4 million). The airport will be developed in two phases over a three-year period.
Jan-2016. Raigarh Airport is expected to be able to handle A320-sized aircraft and process up to 350 passengers per day once the second phase of expansion is complete. The first phase of the project will allow the airport to handle 75-seat aircraft.
Jul-2014. AAI finalised the master plan and scope of work for development of Raigarh Airport. Under a MoU signed with the Chhattisgarh Government in Jul-2013, AAI is awaiting the transfer of 592 acres of land for the project.

By Road: Raigarh has excellent connectivity with neighbouring cities and towns by well-maintained network of roads. Bilaspur (170 km), Raipur(270 km), Ambikapur (190 km) and Jharsuguda Odisha (90 km) all are well-linked to Raigarh by roads.
By Train : Raigarh railway station is situated in main Mumbai – Hawda rail route, most of the trains which passes in the rout has stoppage in raigarh station. Bilaspur Jn. is the HQ of SECR zone of indian railway which is just 140 km away from the raigarh railway station and well connected throuth rail as well as road.
By Air : Raigarh air base is connected to Raipur airport. Raipur airport is domestic airport which is well connected to major cities of india.
